The Installing, Configuring, and Maintaining Sun Identity Manager 8.0 course provides administrators and support personnel with the skills to configure aspects of the Sun Identity Manager tool and environment. Students will have the ability install and upgrade Sun Identity Manager, seed the Identity Manager user accounts, manage resources, and familiarize themselves with the NetBeans Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

To fully succeed int his course, students should have:
- Experience performing basic system administration, including UNIX administration and networking administration

- Experience with the concepts of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and identity management is strongly recommended
- Experience using Sun Identity Manager or previous releases of Sun Identity Manager
