IPod Touch Competition
Conditions of Entry
Entry into this competition (“Competition”) is open to persons aged 18 years of age, and older, who: (i) are Australian residents or New Zealand residents; (ii) are not employees or their immediate families of the Promoter, and its related companies; (iii) are not precluded by their terms of employment from participating (each an "Eligible Entrant"). "Immediate family" means spouse, defacto spouse, parent, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether natural, or adopted by a parent), whether or not they live in the same household as the employee.
Entry commences at 8.00am on 27/03/08 and closes at 5.00pm on 23/05/08 (“Entry Period”).
The Promoter is holding an event titled “APAC Extended Horizons Summit 2008” in the Endeavour Ballroom at Novotel Brighton Beach, Cnr Grand Parade & Princess Street, Brighton-Le-Sands, NSW, on the 25 to 27/05/08 (the “Event”). The Event includes 3 workshops on the 25/05/08: Workshop 1: Implementing Travel Reservation Service on SOA Principles: an example; Workshop 2: The Complete Works of the Sun Identity Suite; and Workshop 3: A Hands-On MySQL Cluster 5.1 Tutorial.
Eligible Entrants who, during the Entry Period, register and submit payment for the Horizons Summit Standard Package Registration, which includes the full Horizons Conference on 26/05/08 and 27/05/08 and includes 1 of the 3 workshops on 25/05/08, at http://au.sun.com/sunnews/events/2008/horizons will each be allocated one entry into the competition.
There will be 3 draws, one during each of the Workshops of the Event on 25/05/08. Each draw will take place between 1.45pm and 5.00pm in the relative rooms the Workshops are taking place on 25/05/08 in at the Novotel Brighton Beach, Cnr Grand Parade & Princess Street, Brighton-Le-Sands, NSW.
The Eligible Entrant whose valid entry is first drawn will, subject to meeting the requirements of condition, win the competition Prize. The Prize comprises of an Apple iPod Touch 16GB valued at $499. 3 Apple iPod Touch 16GB will be drawn in total, one at each of the 3 workshops.
If the first drawn entrant is not present at the time of the draw, he or she will be notified by mail or email. If the competition Prize is not claimed within 3 months from the time of draw, a redraw will take place on 24/08/2008 at 10.00am in Sun Microsystems Australia office on Level 3, 828 Pacific Highway, Gordon NSW 2072.
The Judges decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
The name of the winner will be published at http://au.sun.com/sunnews/events/2008/horizons within 7 days of the draw for a duration of at least 7days.
To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) whatsoever which is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant arising out of, or in any way connected with, the Competition or prizes, including: (i) any indirect, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any loss arising from any negligent act or omission of any of the Relevant Parties; (iii) any liability for personal injury or death.
