Compared to our previous generation of x86 servers, the new Sun X4170 server delivers up to 2x the number of compute threads (16 Intel® Hyper-Threads), more than 2x the memory, and more than 2x the memory speed at 1333 MHz. In addition, we've more than doubled the maximum memory bandwidth to 64GB/s and doubled the I/O bandwidth with PCI Express 2.0.
